Uzbekistan Launches New Trade Route to Mongolia via Kyrgyzstan, China

Uzbekistan has opened a new road freight corridor to Mongolia, aiming to boost trade efficiency and expand market access for domestic businesses, according to the Uzbek Ministry of Transport.

The ministry, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has organized a pilot shipment via the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China-Mongolia corridor, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The initiative is designed to help domestic businesses expand into new markets and develop alternative trade routes.

The new route is expected to increase the volume of freight transport between the countries involved and reduce delivery times. It will also allow Uzbek companies to expand the geography of their trade relationships.

Given the current state of the global logistics market, the Ministry stressed the importance of developing this corridor to expand the operations of national freight carriers, improve their efficiency, and strengthen their competitiveness.

Back in February, a session of the Uzbekistan-Mongolia Joint Commission on international road transport was held. During the meeting, the two sides agreed to double the annual quota of permit forms and to implement an electronic E-Permit system.
