At 07:04 (GMT+6) on September 22, a moderate earthquake measuring magnitude 3.3 occurred in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The tremor’s epicenter was pinpointed near the Botken area (coordinates 40.09° N, 71.95° E) at a depth of 10 kilometers, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
According to reports, the seismic intensity reached level 3 within Kyrgyzstan, causing noticeable but mild shaking in the region.
The quake was also felt in neighboring Uzbekistan, though with less intensity. In the city of Kuvasay, located 23 kilometers from the epicenter, the tremors registered a level 2 on the seismic scale. Similarly, the Fergana district, 31 kilometers away, experienced tremors of the same intensity. The epicenter was approximately 265 kilometers southeast of Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent.
There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties related to the earthquake. Authorities continue to monitor the situation for any aftershocks or related seismic activity.
