Uzbekistan Leads Compassionate Repatriation Campaign in Line with Global Fight Against Trafficking

Uzbekistan has carried out the humanitarian campaign “Return to the Homeland,” aligned with the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The initiative saw the Foreign Ministry, together with Uzbek diplomatic missions worldwide, actively assist citizens who found themselves in difficult situations, including those detained in deportation centers, by facilitating their safe return to Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

During the campaign, a total of 1,224 Uzbek nationals were repatriated from 15 countries, comprising 654 women, 570 men, and 438 children. In addition, 2,113 compatriots received legal consultations to address their concerns in accordance with established procedures.

Officials stressed that Uzbek citizens are protected by the state regardless of their location abroad, underscoring the government’s commitment to its people.

The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that supporting Uzbek citizens abroad remains a top priority and aligns with the president’s people-centered policies and initiatives.
