Uzbekistan Opens Doors to Kazakh Travelers

Uzbekistan is looking to attract more visitors from Kazakhstan as global instability and suspended trips to parts of the Middle East reshape travel demand.

Uzbekistan’s Consulate General held an online meeting with the “Touristik Kamkor” foundation and leading tour operators from both countries to discuss ways to boost tourist flows and make travel more convenient, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Participants explored several initiatives, including reopening temporarily closed border checkpoints, expanding medical tourism, improving visitor services, and increasing railway connections.

Special attention was given to high-speed trains such as Afrosiyob, as well as the potential development of the “Keruen Express” route by Kazakhstan’s Kompas company.

Kazakh representatives noted that more than 100,000 tour packages to Middle Eastern destinations are currently on hold. In this context, Uzbekistan is positioning itself as an attractive and accessible alternative for travelers.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare a joint proposal outlining concrete measures to strengthen tourism cooperation, coordinated with the “Touristik Kamkor” foundation.

With improved connectivity and targeted initiatives, Uzbekistan aims to become a top regional destination for tourists from Kazakhstan.
