Sherzod Shermatov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, has met with NVIDIA leadership during an official US visit to discuss a strategic partnership aimed at advancing artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology infrastructure across the country.
The partnership will focus on knowledge exchange, educational programs, and the development of advanced AI infrastructure. Uzbek specialists will gain access to NVIDIA’s best practices in AI governance, ecosystem development, and international standards using open data, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Plans include the creation of an AI Excellence Center to train educators, reskill specialists, and conduct research programs. The initiative aims to integrate AI programs into higher education, with faculty obtaining international certification through the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute.
By 2026, Uzbekistan plans to complete two AI clusters totaling up to one megawatt: one for education and research, and another for digital government, healthcare, and industry projects. Leading universities will also be equipped with state-of-the-art NVIDIA supercomputing systems to accelerate AI adoption nationwide.
In 2026, NVIDIA solutions will expand into industrial enterprises, banks, and government institutions, backed by an estimated $3 million investment in an Industrial AI Excellence Center. This center will focus on digital twins, robotics, and industrial AI technologies, powered by NVIDIA hardware and software platforms.
The collaboration with NVIDIA represents a major step in aligning global AI expertise with Uzbekistan’s national strategic priorities, aiming to build a sustainable, innovative digital economy and position the country as a regional leader in AI and technology innovation.
