Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has expressed his country’s readiness to join the Gaza Peace Council as a founding member, a US-led international initiative aimed at resolving conflicts and strengthening stability in the Middle East.
Uzbekistan received an official invitation from the US, and in his reply, Mirziyoyev highlighted that the initiative represents an important step toward long-standing conflict resolution, peace, and regional stability, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has previously agreed to join the council. The Gaza Peace Council, announced by US President Donald Trump on January 15, 2026, is an intergovernmental body designed to promote governance, reconstruction, and post-war economic recovery in Gaza, under UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
