Uzbekistan, Russia Focus on Strengthening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

On January 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

The Russian Defense Minister conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Leader of Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The discussion focused on developing and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, particularly in the context of implementing agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan in May 2024.

The importance of enhancing cooperation between the defense ministries of both countries was emphasized, in accordance with adopted strategic programs and planning documents.
