Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region Partners with Germany to Train Skilled Specialists

A new professional training center aimed at preparing qualified specialists for the German labor market will soon be established in Fergana, Uzbekistan.

The announcement came following a meeting between Fergana’s governor Khayrullo Bozorov and Max Reumschüssel, head of the German company Simson Private Akademie, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

During the discussions, both parties agreed to move forward with the practical implementation of agreements made during a recent visit by a Fergana delegation to Germany earlier this July.

The talks highlighted the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Germany, focusing on expanding interregional cooperation. Key initiatives under consideration include labor migration and the development of a workforce skilled in areas highly demanded internationally.

The meeting participants noted that ongoing mutual visits and signed memorandums of understanding have laid the groundwork for tangible projects. Central among these is a pilot project to establish a vocational education center in Fergana modeled on German standards. The center’s curriculum, provided by Simson Private Akademie, will emphasize technical specialties such as metalworking, electromechanics, and other related fields.

Graduates of the program are expected to receive the internationally recognized ISO 9606 certification, which will validate their professional skills and facilitate their employment in German enterprises.

Bozorov expressed strong support for the initiative, emphasizing that an effective vocational training system combined with enhanced language skills-including German language courses-will ensure the program’s success and improve labor migration outcomes.

Prior to the center’s official opening at Fergana State University, German language courses will be offered to local youth to prepare them for the training ahead. The meeting concluded with a roadmap for the phased implementation of the project.
