Uzbekistan has strengthened its global trade presence, maintaining active economic relations with 194 countries around the world.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the country’s foreign trade turnover reached $37 billion in the first six months of 2025 - a notable increase of $7.7 billion, or 26.3 per cent, compared to the same period last year, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.
The surge in trade was driven largely by Uzbekistan’s leading partners, including China ($6.56 billion), Russia ($6.03 billion), Kazakhstan ($2.21 billion), Türkiye ($1.34 billion), and the Republic of Korea ($837.1 million).
Of the total trade volume, exports accounted for $16.9 billion, while imports stood at $20.1 billion.
The government continues pursuing economic diversification and export growth. As part of these efforts, a special industrial zone is expected to be established in the Samarkand region, aimed at boosting production capacity and attracting foreign investment.
