Uzbekistan’s Junior Chess Masters Make Bold Moves, Secure Three Medals in Peru

Uzbekistan’s young chess talents have showcased impressive skills at the World Junior Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship held in Peru, securing three medals.

The tournament featured 89 participants from 19 countries. In the Open Rapid category, Muhammadzohid Suyarov claimed the gold medal, while Mukhiddin Madaminov took silver, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

In the Blitz competition of the same category, Madaminov rose to the top with a gold medal, Suyarov earned bronze, and Khumoyun Bekmurodov finished just shy of the podium in fourth place.

In the women’s events, Afruza Khamdamova captured silver in Rapid, and Umida Omonova secured silver in Blitz.

By the end of the championship, the Uzbek team had earned three medals and two strong finishes: Madaminov led with 12 points to win gold, Suyarov followed with 10 points for bronze, and Omonova scored 9.5 points to claim silver. Bekmurodov and Madinabonu Khalilova also performed well, finishing fourth and sixth respectively with 9 and 8 points.
