Young Azerbaijani Chess Players Gear Up for World Cadet Championships 2025

Young Azerbaijani chess players will vie for glory at the FIDE World Cadet Chess Championships 2025, which officially kicked off today in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The championship will be organized among boys and girls in the following ages categories: U8, U10, U12 (Open & Girls), The Caspian Post reports citing AZERTAC.

A total of 785 young chess players from 83 countries have registered to take part in this prestigious competition. Azerbaijan’s hopes will be pinned on Fatima Mirzaliyeva, Nurlan Azizli, Mehriban Ahmadli, Malak Asadli, Atilla Orman, Kanan Babasoy and Asnad Bakhshizade.

The 11-round championship will run until September 30.
