Uzbekistan's Urgench Technological University to Welcome Azerbaijani Students in 2026

Uzbekistan's Urgench Technological University is preparing to welcome students from Azerbaijan as part of its expanding international programs.

"We plan to attract foreign students from Azerbaijan. It is possible that next year we will have students from Azerbaijan studying with us," Shahodat Jumaniyazova, Specialist in the International Cooperation Department and Erasmus+ Project Coordinator, said, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Over the past four years, the university has significantly strengthened its global partnerships. It now collaborates with several prestigious European universities ranked among the world’s top 300, including the University of Barcelona, University of Padua, and the University of Bohemia.

The university has also signed Memorandums of Understanding with Azerbaijan’s Western Caspian University and Azerbaijan State University of Economics, alongside agreements with multiple institutions in Türkiye and Europe.

Jumaniyazova added, "We participate in Erasmus+ projects, which allow our faculty and students to undertake semester-long internships in Europe."

As part of a press tour across Uzbekistan, Azerbaijani journalists visited the new campus of Urgench Technological University Ranch in Urgench, Khorezm region.

The campus, built with an investment of around $10 million, is designed to accommodate up to 16,000 students. It features a comprehensive complex of academic buildings, modern laboratories, and a dormitory with 400 beds.

During their visit, journalists toured the campus infrastructure, including lecture halls, laboratory facilities, and the sports center, gaining firsthand insight into the university’s state-of-the-art educational environment.
