Since December 2024, UzAuto Motors Powertrain has begun exporting advanced CSS Prime cylinder blocks to countries in Latin America, marking a significant milestone for the Uzbek automotive supplier.
The total exports have reached 40,000 units valued at $4.9 million, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
This breakthrough follows a major expansion in 2022 when the company launched its state-of-the-art CSS Prime assembly line. Utilizing General Motors technology, the facility produces modern 1.2-liter naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines for Chevrolet Onix and Chevrolet Tracker models, meeting the latest global standards for fuel efficiency, power, and durability.
UzAuto Motors Powertrain’s success is built on years of steady technological advancement. Since 2012, the company has been producing second-generation B-DOHC gasoline engines (1.2 and 1.5 liters), which balance performance with fuel economy and are used in vehicles like the Chevrolet Cobalt.
Ongoing investments in manufacturing technology have been key. The introduction of a High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) line enables precise aluminum cylinder block production, while cylinder heads are made with gravity casting to ensure strength. All machining is performed on CNC machines, guaranteeing high accuracy and international compliance.
UzAuto Motors Powertrain stands out as the only plant in Central Asia offering a full engine production cycle, from casting aluminum parts to final machining and assembly. This integrated approach reduces logistics expenses and allows the company to offer products at costs 10-20 per cent lower than similar factories globally.
Additionally, leveraging local labor and energy resources strengthens the company’s economic resilience and contributes positively to Uzbekistan’s broader industrial growth.
UzAuto Motors Powertrain’s products are now competing effectively in global markets, reinforcing Uzbekistan’s position in the international automotive industry.
