Uzbekistan Sends 254-Athlete Delegation to Third CIS Games in Azerbaijan

Uzbekistan will field a strong delegation of 254 athletes at the Third CIS Games, set to take place in Azerbaijan from September 27 to October 8.

Uzbekistan’s team will compete in 23 sports disciplines, ranging from Olympic events to traditional and combat sports, The Caspian Post informs via the Uzbek National Olympic Committee.

The lineup includes table tennis, trap shooting, badminton, football, swimming, volleyball, freestyle wrestling, women's wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, 3x3 basketball, fencing, sambo, judo, taekwondo (WT), rowing, canoe/kayak racing, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, archery, boxing, and the traditional equestrian game chovgan.

The multi-sport event will be hosted across seven Azerbaijani cities-Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, and Khankendi-with the opening and closing ceremonies scheduled to take place at the Ganja City Stadium.
