Uzbekistan, Tatarstan Eye Deeper Collaboration Across Energy, Industry, and Agriculture

Sodiq Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis (parliament), has met with Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, to discuss strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, covering ongoing joint projects in sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, automotive manufacturing, industry, and agriculture.

The meeting reaffirmed the growing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia, with particular emphasis on Tatarstan’s key role in enhancing bilateral relations, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Safoyev commended Minnikhanov for his leadership in transforming Tatarstan into one of Russia’s most innovative and economically vibrant regions, noting his significant contributions to strengthening ties with Uzbekistan.

Education was also a focal point, with the Kazan Federal University branch in Jizzakh serving as a successful model of regional collaboration.

Both leaders concluded the meeting by pledging to intensify practical cooperation, launch new joint initiatives, and further deepen the friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan.
