Uzbekistan, Türkiye Step Up Strategic Cooperation Talks

Uzbekistan and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic partnership during an online meeting, highlighting the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in bilateral ties.

Alisher Agzamkhodjaev, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on International Relations, Foreign Economic Ties, Foreign Investments, and Tourism, met virtually with Osman Mestin, Chairman of the Türkiye-Uzbekistan Interparliamentary Cooperation Group, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The talks underscored that cooperation between the two countries continues to advance dynamically, fueled by the strong political will of their leaders and long-standing relations rooted in mutual trust.

The two sides placed particular emphasis on interparliamentary engagement as a key driver of closer cooperation. Discussions focused on exchanging legislative experience, ratifying interstate agreements, and strengthening parliamentary oversight to ensure effective implementation of joint decisions.

Participants also agreed on the importance of intensifying contacts between parliamentary committees and interparliamentary groups, establishing regular dialogue, and launching joint initiatives aimed at further expanding and deepening Uzbekistan-Türkiye cooperation across multiple areas.
