Director of the Uzbek Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency Abdulla Azizov has met with US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick to discuss expanding bilateral collaboration in the pharmaceutical field.
During the meeting, Azizov provided a comprehensive update on the current status of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical market, highlighting its export potential and key projects underway within the innovative scientific-industrial cluster, Tashkent Pharma Park, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The discussions centered on opportunities to conduct clinical trials in Uzbekistan and to foster academic and scientific partnerships with leading US universities and research institutions. Both parties emphasized the importance of organizing information and training programs aligned with US FDA regulations to support industry standards.
Ambassador Henick noted the growing interest among American companies and research bodies to engage with Uzbek pharmaceutical entrepreneurs, signaling potential for increased investment and cooperation.
Additionally, the officials explored ways to strengthen ties through established exchange and development programs such as Fulbright, Faculty Enrichment, and the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). They also discussed the creation of research grants and initiatives to share expertise, aiming to accelerate innovation and capacity building within Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector.
