Uzbekistan is riding a tourism boom, receiving more than a million international visitors each month since April.
Over the first nine months of 2025, the country welcomed 8.6 million foreign tourists-a 112.5 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The Uzbek Tourism Committee says that revenue from exported tourism services has also reached a new high, exceeding $3.6 billion to date.
Officials credit this surge to an ambitious reform agenda spearheaded by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at unlocking Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and modernizing its hospitality infrastructure.
Key elements driving the growth include:
Strategic global marketing campaigns
Participation in international travel exhibitions
Extensive coverage in foreign media, bolstering Uzbekistan’s image as an attractive destination
Further elevating its global profile, Uzbekistan is set to host the International Astronautical Congress (IAC)-the largest space and science forum in the world-for the first time in Central Asia.
