Mayor Bowser noted that the official designation of September 1 not only carries symbolic significance but also reflects the deepening ties between the peoples of the two nations.
The document emphasizes that in recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and the US have advanced to the level of a strategic partnership, opening new opportunities for expanded cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural spheres.
It further highlights that since gaining independence, Uzbekistan has pursued a path of dynamic economic development, strengthened its engagement with the international community, and built a society founded on the principles of peace, solidarity, and mutual respect.
