Armenia Could Lose Up to 40% of Trade if It Leaves EAEU

Experts say Armenia could face significant economic losses if it exits the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), with potential trade declines of around 40%.

Armenia generated approximately $2.9 billion in trade with Russia alone in 2025, highlighting the country’s strong economic dependence on the EAEU market, The Caspian Post reports via Rosbalt.ru.

Overall trade turnover between Armenia and EAEU member states reached $8.2 billion, while trade with the rest of the world stood at $13.2 billion, according to the same data.

This means the EAEU accounts for roughly 38.5% of Armenia’s total foreign trade, underscoring the bloc’s significant role in the country’s economic structure.
