The US has pledged to support efforts to diversify energy supplies in Armenia and strengthen the country’s energy resilience under a newly signed comprehensive strategic partnership charter between the two nations.
According to the document signed in Yerevan, the US and Armenia plan to explore opportunities to expand energy production and diversify energy sources in the republic, while also promoting investment in Armenia’s energy sector, The Caspian Post reports via TASS.
The agreement emphasizes the importance of building a viable, secure and market-oriented energy system capable of enhancing the resilience and independence of critical infrastructure.
Key priorities outlined in the charter include modernization of power transmission and distribution networks, development of energy storage systems, strengthening cybersecurity protections and expanding workforce capabilities in the energy sector.
