On Monday, Armenia's National Assembly (NA) Speaker Alen Simonyan met with the newly appointed Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami.

First, the parliament head congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and expressed hope that his activities will contribute to the further strengthening and development of relations between Armenia and Iran, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the development of interparliamentary ties between the two countries and matters of regional interest.
