Azerbaijan Facilitates New Transit Shipment from Russia to Armenia

A new shipment of Russian transit cargo destined for Armenia has passed through Azerbaijan, highlighting the country's growing role as a regional transport corridor.

Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) dispatched a train from Balajari Station to Boyuk Kesik Station, carrying 14 railcars loaded with 470 tons of propane and five railcars transporting 339 tons of fertilizers, The Caspian Post reports via Report.

The cargo will continue through Georgia before reaching its final destination in Armenia.

Since the launch of the transit route, more than 36,000 tons of grain, nearly 8,000 tons of fertilizers, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, and 414 tons of anthracite have been transported from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan.

In addition, Azerbaijan has exported more than 14,000 tons of diesel fuel and around 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline to Armenia.
