A conference themed "Azerbaijan-China strategic partnership: Consolidation and Promotion of Cooperation in the Global South" got underway in Baku on Wednesday.
Organized by the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), the conference is attended by representatives of the Communist Party of China (CPC), The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.
The event commenced with the performances of Azerbaijan’s and Chinese National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
In his opening remarks, Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Head of the Central Apparatus, emphasized that today relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China are anchored on friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation, and a reliable strategic partnership.
He noted that, thanks to the political will and joint efforts of President of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev and President of the People's Republic of China, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping, the relations between the two countries have reached their highest level.
Emphasizing the historical significance of the Joint Declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China, signed by both leaders last year, Tahir Budagov described its adoption as a very pivotal step towards future bolstering of interstate relations.
The conference will further be addressed by Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Jianchao; First Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ali Ahmadov; ANAS President, Academician Isa Habibbayli; Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Academician Urkhan Alakbarov; Vice-Rector of ADA University, MP Fariz Ismayilzade and MP, Member of the YAP Board Parvin Karimzade.
