The second International Water Management Exhibition and Conference - Baku Water Week 2025 has officially opened in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, bringing together government agencies, international companies, experts, and professionals from the global water sector.
At the opening ceremony, Zaur Mikayilov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, highlighted the success of last year’s inaugural Baku Water Week, noting the platform’s growing role in promoting sustainable water management practices, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Farid Mammadov, General Director of Caspian Event Organisers and Executive Director of Iteca Caspian LLC, emphasized that the exhibition presents the latest advancements and international best practices in water management. “The event unites stakeholders from across the globe at the Baku Expo Center,” he said.
This year’s exhibition features over 60 companies and delegations from countries including Austria, Belarus, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, and the United States.
Exhibitors are presenting a wide range of products and services, including:
Laboratory and analysis technologies
Banking services related to water management
Pipes, pipeline equipment, and water infrastructure products
Cloud seeding and flood protection technologies
Drainage systems and hydraulic structures
Drinking water treatment, water supply, and sewage solutions
Construction and drilling equipment for water management
Measurement, regulation, and control technologies
Design and construction of water facilities
Information and communication technologies, including AI applications
Education, research, and training in the water sector
Irrigation and desalination technologies
Wastewater and stormwater treatment systems
Baku Water Week 2025 also features a comprehensive business program covering topics such as water resource management, efficient water use, global climate change, water security, water diplomacy, and innovative technologies and practices in the water sector.
The first day included sessions on “Complete Water Treatment Solutions”, “Achievement of Guaranteed Results through Comprehensive Engineering of Water Supply and Wastewater Facilities”, a case session on “Global Climate Change: Management of Drought Risks in Azerbaijan”, and expert discussions on “Current State of the Caspian Sea: Problems and Solutions” and “Sustainable Wastewater Management - Towards the Goals of COP29”.
On September 11, the second International Conference on Water Management, organized by the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, will be held at the Baku Expo Centre. The conference will feature over 40 speakers from nearly 10 countries, including government officials, international organizations, private sector leaders, and leading experts in water management.
Throughout the three-day event, the foyer of the Baku Expo Centre showcases installations including the Zabukhchay Reservoir - the first reservoir of Liberated Karabakh, the Gate Valve waterwheel, Hovsan Aeration Station, Baku Water Supply, and the Oghuz-Qabala Water Supply System, along with exhibits on the history of water. Members of the “Ümid var” Inclusive Society are also presenting artworks under the theme “Baku Water Week 2025 Through the Brush of the Differents” in Pavilion No. 1.
The event is organized by Caspian Event Organisers, in partnership with Caspian Event Management and ICA Events, with support from the Azerbaijan Exhibition Organisers Association (ASTA). PASHA Bank serves as the official bank of Baku Water Week.
Official partners for the 2025 exhibitions include Absheron Hotel Group, Hilton Baku, Radisson Hotel Baku, Hilton Garden Inn Baku, and Ibis Baku City.
