Swift Response Saves Three from Blaze in Sumgayit Residential Block in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations has received the information via the 112 hotline about a fire that broke out in a residential building on N. Narimanov Street in the 2nd microdistrict of Sumgayit.

The brigades from the State Fire Protection Service and the Sumgayit Regional Center of the ministry were promptly dispatched to the scene, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of firefighters, the blaze - which started in a two-room apartment on the fourth floor of a five-story building - was brought under control before it could spread to neighboring apartments.

The fire destroyed combustible materials over an area of 13 square meters within the 45-square-meter apartment, while the rest of the premises were protected from damage.

During the rescue operation, emergency crews used special equipment to save one child and two women who had become trapped on the balcony of the fifth floor.
