The heads of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan have signed a new declaration following the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council, marking key decisions for the organization’s future.
The leaders reviewed the most pressing security challenges facing member states and summarized the results of the bloc’s work in 2025. They also outlined the organization’s priority areas for the coming period, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
One of the major outcomes of the summit was the appointment of Taalaatbek Masadykov from Kyrgyzstan as the new CSTO Secretary General for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2026.
In addition to the declaration, the leaders signed several other documents aimed at strengthening and modernizing the CSTO’s collective security framework.
