Envoy: Azerbaijan - Vital Link Between Central Asia, Europe

Azerbaijan’s role as a strategic bridge between Central Asia and Europe is gaining growing international recognition, with Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Watanabe Katsuya highlighting the country’s unique geopolitical position.

The Japanese ambassador noted that Azerbaijan’s location along key transport, energy, and trade corridors makes it a vital link connecting regional markets and reinforcing East-West connectivity, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“Azerbaijan holds an extremely strategic position between Central Asia and Europe. Its important geographical location should not be limited to serving merely as a bridge between Europe and Central Asia, but should become a broader platform for cooperation open to the entire world,” Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Watanabe Katsuya said.

“Recognizing Azerbaijan’s considerable potential, Japan is keen to contribute to its sustainable development by transferring advanced knowledge in green energy, ICT, and cybersecurity. Japan shows great interest in sharing its technologies and experience with Azerbaijan, contributing at all levels to the country’s development. Azerbaijan is a very attractive country, and its opportunities are truly limitless. Japan hopes to see Azerbaijan evolve into an even more advanced nation, whose growth and achievements will enrich the wider world,” Watanabe Katsuya added.
