Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Defence Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov who reported on the Ministry’s activities in 2024.
The minister reported on troop training, the autumn mandatory recruitment drive, measures to strengthen discipline and military service safety, and raising the social status and military pay. He said special attention was given to the gradual promotion of the military potential of the army and new military training approaches, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

The Head of State stressed the importance of Kazakhstan’s peacekeeping contingent at the Golan Heights under the UN aegis.
Following the meeting the President- Commander-in-Chief of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set certain tasks to speed up cooperation with the country’s defence enterprises, develop area defence, and special operations forces, and intensify social-legal work.
