Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Regional Director of the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) for Europe and Central Asia Gwi-Yeop Son discussed key areas of cooperation and promising projects.
Having highly praised the long-term strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the UN, the parties paid attention to the importance of consolidating efforts in the implementation of national plans and programs on the SDGs in Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.
It was noted that foreign policy initiatives to achieve the SDGs and pressing regional problems put forward by the country are regularly supported by the UN and other authoritative structures.
A clear confirmation of this is the unanimous adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution “2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust” initiated by Turkmenistan. In this context, it was said about the importance of reinforcing the adopted document with practical measures and filling it with real, targeted actions.
