Turkmenistan Unveils Draft State Program to Enhance Aviation Security

The program is aimed at improving the level of flight safety and strengthening Turkmenistan’s position in the international aviation industry.

At a regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting, Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reviewed the draft of the State Program for Ensuring Aviation Security in the country's civil aviation sector.

The program was prepared in accordance with international treaties, the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Air Code of Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammethan Chakyev reported on the current work in the field of aviation security. The President noted that the legal basis for civil aviation is being improved, and the material and technical base of national aviation is being strengthened. Having approved the draft program, the head of state instructed the head of the agency to begin its implementation.
