Uzbekistan, China Aim to Boost Tourism Ties

Tashkent recently hosted a business forum with representatives from China’s tourism sector, focused on promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in China and strengthening business relations between the two countries.
Regular flights will be opened between the cities of Tashkent and Hainan from December 18, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The participants discussed the current state of tourism and signed agreements and memorandums of understanding between travel companies of Uzbekistan and China.
“In ten months, about 60 thousand tourists from China visited Uzbekistan”, says the head of the Hainan Tourism Department Liu Fanghu. “More and more often they come to get acquainted with historical places, rich cultural heritage and beautiful nature of your country. Bilateral relations between the two countries are strengthening in trade, economy, tourism and other areas”.
