Uzbekistan, US Speed Up Trade and Economic Cooperation

The parties agreed to transform this format into an expanded dialogue of strategic partnership to further intensify interaction between private sector representatives and diversify trade and investment cooperation between the United States and Uzbekistan.

Washington hosted a roundtable discussion with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and officials of CNH Industrial, Abbott, Medtronic, Cintana, HP, Caterpillar, Coca-Cola, Sierra Nevada Corporation, John Deere, Boeing, Stirling Foundation, Cove Capital, Bridge Capital Group, Stantec Inc and other large U.S. companies.

Officials from the White House, the Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) attended the event, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The Advisor to the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Abdulla Hoshimov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffarbek Madrakhimov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States Furkat Sidikov, and representatives of the American side addressed the meeting.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State John Mark Pommersheim highly praised the 4th round of the meeting of the Dialogue of the Uzbekistan – American Strategic Partnership, held on November 13 in Washington.
