Armenia and Georgia are looking to expand direct air connections between their cities, as the two neighboring countries seek to strengthen transport and regional economic ties.

The issue was discussed during a meeting in Batumi between Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan and Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, according to Report.

The officials discussed plans to increase the number of direct air routes and intensify air connectivity between Armenian and Georgian cities.

The expansion of aviation links could make travel between the neighboring countries more convenient while supporting tourism, business exchanges and broader regional connectivity.

The talks also covered current challenges and development prospects in freight transportation and logistics.

The sides examined cooperation both within their bilateral relationship and in a wider regional context, highlighting the importance of efficient transport links for trade and economic activity.

Aviation was a particular focus of the meeting, but the two countries also stressed the importance of continuing their strategic cooperation in the energy sector.
