Construction Site Dispute in Georgia Ends in Fatal Stabbing

A dispute between construction workers in Georgia's capital Tbilisi ended in a fatal stabbing.

The incident took place on Tsereteli Avenue on the evening of May 23. One version of events suggests the conflict began over a money-related argument at the construction site. The victim was identified as 47-year-old Tamaz Nakashidze, The Caspian Post reports via PrimeTime.ge.

Police quickly detained 45-year-old Nugzar Goglidze as a suspect in the case.

According to the Georgian Interior Ministry, investigators determined that the suspect inflicted a fatal chest wound with a cold weapon during a physical confrontation that erupted after an argument.

A criminal investigation has been launched under Article 108 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which covers intentional murder and carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
