QatarEnergy has announced the suspension of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production following military attacks on its facilities in the industrial cities of Ras Laffan and Mesaieed.
“The company QatarEnergy has halted production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and associated products,” the statement said, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
Ras Laffan is one of the world’s largest LNG export hubs, playing a crucial role in global gas supplies. Any prolonged shutdown could have significant ripple effects across international energy markets, particularly in Europe and Asia, where Qatari LNG is a key source of supply.
The suspension comes amid escalating regional tensions that have already sent oil and gas prices higher. Analysts warn that disruptions to Qatar’s production capacity could tighten global energy supplies and add further volatility to already strained markets.
