A major international Conference of Governors of the Caspian States will be held on November 18-19 in the city of Rasht, Gilan Province, Iran - marking an important step toward strengthening regional cooperation among the five Caspian nations.
The event will bring together governors, officials, and business leaders from the coastal regions of Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan to discuss new opportunities for trade, transit, and sustainable development, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Special Representative for Caspian Affairs and Deputy Foreign Minister, said that the summit will serve as a key platform to expand economic and transit cooperation across the region.
The meeting follows the resolution adopted at the Third Caspian Economic Conference in Tehran and aims to turn regional agreements into concrete projects.
The agenda includes discussions on joint investment initiatives, the development of the North-South transport corridor, optimization of trade routes, and environmental protection of the Caspian Sea.
Ambassadors and consuls of Iran to the other four Caspian countries, as well as their envoys in Tehran, will also attend.
The opening ceremony will feature speeches by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, while the closing session will be addressed by First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref.
