The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has announced that its team of inspectors left Iran.
“An IAEA team of inspectors today [July 4] safely departed from Iran to return to the Agency headquarters in Vienna, after staying in Tehran throughout the recent military conflict,” The Caspian Post reports via IAEA’s message on X.
The specialists had been in Tehran during the recent military conflict.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized the need for renewed talks with Iran to resume monitoring and verification of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
On June 13, Israel carried out large-scale airstrikes against locations connected to Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, including key sites in Natanz and Fordow, as well as positions held by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In light of the escalating security risks, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry had previously issued a strict travel advisory, urging its citizens to refrain from non-essential travel to Iran and Israel.
