Iran has accused Ukraine of attacking an Iranian merchant vessel in the Caspian Sea, saying the incident left one sailor dead and another injured.
The attack took place on Saturday, July 25, and caused an explosion aboard the commercial ship. Iranian officials reported that one crew member was killed in the blast, while another sustained injuries, The Caspian Post reports via IRIB news.
In its statement, Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the incident, calling it a violation of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter and describing it as "an act of aggression that could further fuel the flames of war."
