Iran and Russia signed a $25 billion agreement on Friday to build four new nuclear power plants.
An agreement for the construction of four advanced third-generation nuclear power plants worth $25 billion in Sirik, Hormozgan Province in south Iran was signed between Iran Hormoz Company and Rosatom Company, The Caspian Post reports citing Iranian media.
The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said earlier today in Moscow that "Iran and Russia negotiated construction of power plants larger than Bushehr power plant."
spokesman for the AEOI made the remarks on the sidelines of the Russia’s World Atom Week (WAW)'s Atom Expo 2025 exhibition in Moscow, where an Iranian delegation headed by the AEOI head Mohamad Eslami were attending.
He hailed the Russians' cooperation with Iran in building the Bushehr Power Plant in the south of the country, saying that the plant fully meets international standards.
