Iran Plans to Build New Nuclear Facility, 'Iran Hormuz'

Mohammad Eslami, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, announced that the "Iran Hormuz" plant in Hormozgan, with a 5,000 MW capacity, will soon enter the design stage.

The Iranian nuclear chief on Thursday said that the "Iran Hormuz" nuclear power plant site in Hormozgan Province, with a capacity to produce 5,000 megawatts of nuclear electricity, will soon move into the design and equipment phase, The Caspian Post reports citing Iranian media.

He emphasized that this project represents a significant step toward achieving the objectives outlined in the Comprehensive Strategic Document of Iran’s nuclear industry.
