More than 300 hours have passed since Iran imposed a nationwide internet blackout, according to the internet monitoring group NetBlocks, as authorities continue efforts to control information during ongoing protests.
NetBlocks warned, “Attempts to obscure the truth will be documented in real time: The world is watching,” The Caspian Post reports, citing Iran International.
The group noted that most of the country remains offline, with only limited access permitted through “whitelisted” networks.
Reports also indicate that the Iranian government is attempting to shape international opinion by placing targeted opinion pieces abroad.
