Iran and Uzbekistan have signed a series of new agreements aimed at expanding cooperation and investment in the mining and mineral industries, marking a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic ties.
During his visit to Tashkent, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Atabak held talks with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Bobur Islamov and Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
Atabak emphasized that the newly signed agreements will pave the way for substantial growth in trade and commercial exchange between the two nations. He also noted that, while cooperation has been growing positively, both sides are determined to meet the strategic goals set by their presidents.
The Iranian delegation, led by Atabak, arrived in Tashkent on November 9, accompanied by senior representatives from Iran’s industrial and mining sectors.
On the first day of the visit, the delegation, joined by Iran’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mohammad Ali Eskandari, met with Iranian entrepreneurs and business leaders operating in Uzbekistan.
The discussions also covered the development of joint mining projects, simplification of customs procedures, and better utilization of industrial capacities in both countries to ensure sustainable economic growth.
