The Islamic Republic of Iran has officially welcomed the advancement of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, following the recent finalization of a draft peace agreement between the two South Caucasus nations.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement praising the diplomatic progress and reaffirming Tehran’s commitment to supporting stability and cooperation in the region, The Caspian Post reports via the ministry.
The statement emphasized that Iran is closely following developments in the South Caucasus and continues engaging in dialogue with both neighboring countries-the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.
The ministry noted that peace and stability in the Caucasus are undoubtedly in the interest of all countries in the region. The Islamic Republic of Iran, while welcoming the completion of the peace treaty text between the two countries, considers this a significant step toward achieving lasting peace.
Moreover, the ministry also highlighted Iran’s willingness to maintain constructive and mutually beneficial relations with both parties. It reiterated Tehran’s support for promoting peace, security, and economic development through bilateral cooperation and regional formats-particularly the "3+3" platform, which includes Iran, Russia, Türkiye, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
