Ali Zeinivand, Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister for Political Affairs, said on Monday that the country has no serious concern regarding security along its land and sea borders.

“There is no serious concern along the country’s western, northwestern, southwestern, eastern, southeastern as well as maritime borders,” Zeinivand, who also serves as the ministry spokesman, said at a press conference in Tehran, The Caspian Post reports, citing Xinhua.

He added that border security is ensured by two military headquarters established in northwestern and southeastern Iran, which concentrate forces for precise and in-depth control over and beyond the frontiers.

Zeinivand also stated that people’s lives and assisting those affected by the war are the Iranian government’s top priority. He further noted that there are no issues with goods supply or internal management across the provinces.

On Feb. 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, resulting in the killing of Iran’s then Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders and civilians.

Iran responded with waves of missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and U.S. assets in the Middle East.

A two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States took effect on Wednesday. This was followed by lengthy talks between Iranian and U.S. delegations in Islamabad, which ultimately failed to produce an agreement.
