Tourist arrivals from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan surged by 20.6 per cent in the first seven months of 2025.
Kazakhstan now ranks seventh among all countries, accounting for 4 per cent of total inbound visitors, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
From January to July, Azerbaijan welcomed 1.48 million foreign nationals from 182 countries, a slight 1.7 per cent decrease compared to last year. Despite the overall drop, Kazakhstani visitors recorded one of the strongest growth rates in the CIS region.
Most foreign travelers (75.5 per cent) arrived by air, benefiting from direct flights and simplified travel procedures. Land and sea travel accounted for 23.1 per cent and 1.4 per cent of arrivals, respectively.
Tourism experts attribute Kazakhstan’s surge to strengthened political dialogue, cultural ties, and business exchanges, as well as direct air connections, visa facilitation, and shared historical and linguistic roots.
Azerbaijan remains a top destination for leisure, medical tourism, and business events, with cities like Baku, Ganja, Sheki, and Lankaran drawing international visitors.
On the outbound side, Türkiye led Azerbaijani travelers’ destinations (40.6 per cent), followed by Russia (15.7 per cent), Georgia (11.2 per cent), and Iran (8.9 per cent), with trips to Georgia up nearly 26 per cent.
Meanwhile, Belgium-based Porschist Magazine plans a special edition showcasing Kazakhstan’s landscapes, architecture, and cultural heritage.
