Direct Flights from Astana to Burabay to Boost Tourism in Kazakhstan

Governor of Kazakhstan's Akmola Region Marat Akhmetzhanov has said that Burabay resort area will soon be directly connected to Astana by air.

Akhmetzhanov made these remarks at a Central Communications Service briefing, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

The project, part of the region’s 2029 Development Plan, aims to make Burabay a top travel destination in Kazakhstan.

“We are opening a small airfield for direct flights to Astana, which will cut travel time and create new tourism opportunities,” Akhmetzhanov said.

Tourism in Burabay is already evolving, with helicopter tours launched this year, offering visitors stunning aerial views of the area’s natural beauty. Additionally, a new gamified eco-trail recently opened in Burabay National Park, combining outdoor adventure with interactive learning.

The new air route and tourism initiatives are expected to attract more visitors from the capital and beyond, further establishing Burabay as a premier destination in Kazakhstan.
