Kazakhstan's Akmola region has wrapped up a record-breaking harvest, gathering 7.6 million tons of grain - 75 per cent of which is top-quality - along with 650,000 tons of oilseeds.
The historic yields were fueled by early financing under the Ken Dala and Ken Dala-2 programs, assisting farmers implement advanced agricultural techniques, expand mechanization, and improve crop protection, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Over 4.68 million hectares were harvested with an average yield of 16.3 c/ha, using 7,000 grain harvesters, 4,800 high-performance combines, and modern storage facilities with a total capacity of 7.2 million tons.
The region is now well-positioned to sell its high-quality grain both domestically and internationally, with seed reserves of 539,800 tons already prepared for next year’s sowing season. With a projected gross agricultural output of 1.2 trillion tenge in 2025, Akmola continues to lead Kazakhstan’s farming sector.
