A shocking incident in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan has sparked outrage after a group of intoxicated men brutally assaulted medical staff inside a trauma center.
One of the men had come seeking medical help, accompanied by two others, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The group reportedly behaved aggressively from the start, ignoring staff instructions and escalating tensions.
When a doctor asked them to leave, the situation quickly spiraled out of control.
The men refused to exit and began physically attacking the doctor.
A nurse who tried to intervene was also injured during the assault.
Both the doctor and the nurse sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The attack has raised serious concerns about the safety of healthcare workers.
Police have detained all three suspects:
Two have been placed in a temporary detention facility
One is under police guard in a specialized medical ward
A criminal case has been launched.
Violence against medical personnel-including doctors, paramedics, and ambulance drivers-can carry severe penalties in Kazakhstan, with prison sentences of up to 12 years.
