A 4.9-magnitude earthquake has been recorded near Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The seismic event was detected by the network of seismic stations operated by the “NNCSSNiI” company, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The earthquake occurred at 12:20 p.m. (GMT+5).
Its epicenter was located 136 kilometers southwest of Almaty, within Kyrgyzstan’s territory, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Officials confirmed that no tremors were felt on Kazakhstan’s side.
